The first "Moskva-2026" train enters service on the Moscow Metro

"Trial runs of the new "Moskva-2026" train, produced by Metrovagonmash JSC (part of TMH), have begun on the Moscow Metro," the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport reported.

The "Moskva-2026" metro train has passed all the necessary preliminary tests and has been cleared to run on the line, although it is currently being run in without passengers. During the trial runs, the operation of all units and systems is being thoroughly checked, and adjustments and fine-tuning will be carried out as needed, after which its doors will open for Moscow Metro passengers.

Transtelesoft contributed to the creation of the new Moscow metro train model with driver's console monitors, a video surveillance system, and other solutions, as part of the collective effort of highly qualified designers, developers, and manufacturers across the entire group of companies involved from Transmashholding JSC.

Earlier, city officials announced a decision to additionally purchase 40 new "Moskva-2026" cars (five eight-car trains). They will operate on the Zamoskvoretskaya line. In total, under the contract with TMH, Moscow plans to acquire 704 cars (88 trains) of the new, more advanced "Moskva-2026" series in 2026-2027.
